New technology of quartz sand flotation and flotation machine

How to purify quartz sand by flotation? What is the difference between quartz sand flotation machine and common flotation machine?

Flotation is to remove feldspar, mica and other non-magnetic associated impurities in quartz sand. At present, it is mainly divided into two methods: fluorinated flotation and non fluorinated flotation. Fluorinated flotation is carried out with cationic collector and hydrofluoric acid activator in the range of acidic pH value. This flotation method is a traditional method. The water after flotation contains fluorine ions, which will cause serious impact on the environment and human body. Therefore, people began to turn to more environmentally friendly fluorine-free flotation.

Fluoride free flotation is to make use of the differences in the structure of quartz and feldspar, reasonably match the ratio and dosage of mixed collectors of cation and anion, and make use of their different zeta potentials to preferentially flotation feldspar, so as to realize the separation of them. A large number of experiments have proved that the addition of fluorine-free flotation reagent can increase the content of SiO2 from 99.1% to 99.77%, correspondingly, the content of Fe2O3 decreases from 0.081% to 0.01%, and the productivity is 83% - 85%. This shows that the quality of quartz sand can be improved significantly by fluoride free flotation. In addition, further study shows that iron impurities can be removed from quartz sand powder by using sodium hexametaphosphate as dispersant and flotation regulator, dodecylamine as collector, Fe2O3 content can be reduced from 0.09% to 0.008%, and the productivity can reach 85%.
No matter what flotation method is used for purification, quartz sand flotation needs to be carried out in the flotation machine. The structure of quartz sand flotation machine is different from common flotation machine. Quartz sand flotation machine should be suitable for the requirements of quartz sand particles and specific gravity characters, and meet the requirements of reverse flotation, which is very different from that of common flotation machine.
